The Rock Comes to STA

Game 14: 9 October at Aquinas vs. Rockhurst (3-0)

First of all, Rockhurst has all sorts of difficulty this week with things far more important than soccer.  So I am sure they were not at their best tonight.

We did play hard and well against them. No, we did not cash any goals from the field, and yes one of the goals was an own goal off one of Parker's massive throw-ins, but we also did not allow much of anything.

BWhite named the entire backline of Vance, Howard, Farrar, and Carta with PJ as the BWhite Players of the Match, and that line has to include Jacob Colling in his first match back as Farrar's knee flared up and he didn't play more than about 40 minutes. Colling also played some right back as well. So he got quite a bit of time in this one.

Colling also delivered a goal off another Stoecklein throw.  So he's back and just in time as we found out today that Payne has a torn ACL and is done for the year. (Keep in mind he played 2 and a half games with a torn ACL, and he was great.)

We are very proud of that effort we got tonight out of so many players.  We have only two games to go, but they are against the defending 6A champs on Thursday and the projected 6A champs this year in Olathe Northwest on Saturday in the 8:10 Classic.

We are now 10-4.
